Training with Daley Thompson
I have tried my hand at a few different sports along the way, but it was after my first year of working in London that I found the sport that I was going to love - rowing. I joined Thames Rowing Club in London as a novice and spent a few years training and racing with them. We had many successes and even won The PriceWaterHouse Coopers Cup at Henley Women’s Regatta in 2005.
Since hanging up my rowing lycra, I’ve enjoyed running, triathlons, duathlons, the three-peak challenge! I even gave rugby a go. I lasted two training sessions - looking back I probably shouldn’t have started training with London Wasps women’s club!
Exercise these days mostly consists of what I can fit in with two young daughters at home. This means I need to be creative and if I can get my girls involved even better.
I started Jacqui Jackson Fitness because I wanted to help people feel good about themselves and find a way to enjoy exercise. You don’t need lots of technical, expensive equipment - you just need an open mind and a pair of trainers.
It might not be an easy journey but it should definitely be an enjoyable one.
